Rebecca Redelmeier is the climate reporter at WSKG, the NPR station for New York’s Southern Tier, based in Ithaca. She covers all things climate, environment, and energy across the upstate region. Her reporting frequently airs statewide via the New York Public News Network, a coalition of the state's public radio stations, and she contributes to national climate reporting with NPR as a member of the NPR Climate Collaborative team.

Her prior stories have aired on WNYC's All Things Considered and Morning Edition, and her reporting has been published by The Washington Post, The Intercept, The Guardian, and other outlets in the U.S., Canada, and overseas. Along with radio and print reporting, she also takes photographs and builds data visualizations.

Redelmeier holds a master's degree from the Craig Newmark School of Journalism at CUNY, where she studied health, science, and investigative reporting as a Lorana Sullivan Foundation Scholar. Previously, she was the audience engagement associate at the Committee to Protect Journalists. There, she connected audiences with research on global press freedom and reported on select press freedom issues.

Redelmeier graduated from Tufts University in 2019 with a B.A. in English and a computer science minor. She grew up in Toronto, Canada, and has also lived and reported in Cape Town, South Africa. She is a 2019 recipient of the Overseas Press Club Foundation fellowship for her reporting on the transgender community in Cape Town.
